OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) maintains the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list — individuals and entities the U.S. government restricts from certain transactions. When sanctions screening is enabled on Bidyear, we compare your registered name against a cached copy of the SDN list before bidding and seller approval.
What you may see
- Clear — no match; bidding and selling proceed normally.
- Review — possible name match; admin reviews before activity is allowed.
- Blocked — confirmed or high-confidence match; bidding and seller approval are blocked.
- Skipped — screening disabled or SDN list not yet downloaded on the server.
If you believe you were flagged in error, contact support with government ID showing your legal name. Admins can override after manual review.
Tip: Screening runs at registration, verification, and periodically via the ofac:refresh-sdn scheduled command on the platform.
